Six of Pentacles tarot card from the Simply Tarot deck

Six of Pentacles Tarot Card Meaning

The Donator
Generosity • Support • Reciprocity

An unexpected gift, loan or bonus; you are due to benefit from someone else’s generosity. Your belief in life and people is restored and you feel able to enjoy life more easily, freed from immediate financial concern.

After the difficulties of the Five card, the Six of Pentacles indicates that the Subject is being helped and supported, most likely on a financial, or material, level. It could be a promotion or bonus through work, a financial improvement, or a change to the Subject’s home and, therefore, stability. This card represents unforeseen assistance from another person, or an external force, rather than payment for a job, or task, undertaken by the Subject.

The deeper effect of the kindness shown in the Six is that it has a positive influence on the Subject’s overall security and faith in life, not just literally, but on an emotional level too. The Subject’s faith may have been damaged by events in the past, or they may have just started to come out of a very difficult situation which would have been reflected in the Five. When the Six appears, the Subject starts to regain faith and trust in life, and the people around them.

Love & Relationships

Emotional generosity flows more freely now, though balance still matters deeply. Giving and receiving affection should not feel like a quiet negotiation for worthiness or power. Healthy love allows support to move naturally in both directions without resentment keeping score beneath the surface.

Material Life

Support moves between people more openly now. Generosity, practical help or shared resources restore balance where hardship once created painful imbalance, though dignity still matters deeply on both sides of the exchange. Real security allows people to receive help without feeling reduced by needing it.

Notes from the Artist

The nurturer has been given some help and the vine is thriving. Six Pentacles are held in the sturdy strands of the vine, which interweave, strengthening the whole frame. Lots of new growth of leaves, tendrils and buds appear everywhere and the root ball is also expanding. A pleasing result, and a return of faith and confidence, for the nurturer.
