Page of Wands Tarot Card Meaning

The Reckless One
Curiosity • Communication • Impulse

Your creative idea is gathering substance although it is embryonic. Your passion is great but a dose of reality may be needed. Seek comment and discussion from those you trust. Don’t let realists dampen your enthusiasm; there is potential, but hear the objective point of view to create an attainable goal.

The Subject is attracted to something, new and they may be talking about changing direction as a result. They are very excited by this new idea/prospect but they need to be careful of making hasty and unrealistic decisions, or acting without due care and thought.

As the Subject starts to talk to people, and relay their interest in this new pursuit there will be people who may be dismissive of it. They will critique it and the Subject may feel as if they are trying to discredit it, but they should turn a negative into a positive by listening to their comments and using them constructively. What really matters is the 'action' the Subject takes. Using any information the Subject has received, negative or positive, they should be assessing the idea to see how it can evolve into something more realistic and feasible.

Wanting to 'run' with an idea would be typical of a Wands person, as they are confident and ambitious, but rushing into endeavours without due thought and consideration would not be constructive, and again, the Page portrays an immature attitude to something which would benefit from research.

Love & Relationships

Flirtation, curiosity and playful attraction spark easily here, though emotional maturity may still be catching up with desire. Words carry heat and excitement, but also the risk of misunderstanding or carelessness. not every spark knows what it intends to set alight.

Material Life

Restless ambition sparks new ideas quickly, though consistency still needs strengthening. Excitement surrounds fresh opportunities, creative projects or plans for change, but long-term security requires more than inspiration alone. not every fire that begins brightly knows how to keep itself burning.

Notes from the Artist

A Page is not a member of the Royal Family; usually they are messengers or apprentices. Pages represent very young teenage people or children who are pretty naive and somewhat innocent. The Page of Wands is depicted walking alone in the outdoors whilst the sun sets around him (this represents the impulse to set off on his journey regardless of the dangers - soon it will be dark). This Page assumes that he knows all he needs to know for his journey (he has no guide, no map, no supplies). Clearly he has not sought guidance or, if he has, he has not listened. This represents the passionate desire to charge headlong into something, and being unwilling to seek, or listen to, good advice. The naive always believe that everything will, always, work out wonderfully.
